		<description>@Hamilton Thanks for the comments!  I agree.  The way I look at it one needs to stop waiting for life changing events (an ice age) and look for small ways to change one&#039;s life (spending that extra minute throwing a glass or plastic bottle into recycling).</description>

The cover story of October issue of Wired magazine pushes the same buttons for me: 12 shocking ideas that will change the world.  I am actually less excited about the ideas than about the fundamental assumption you have to make to embrace them: stop clinging to the river bottom!!  Things like stop giving aid to Africa, replace it with investment.  Stop putting people in prison.  Embrace suicide. Embrace the slums.

We need to open up to new thinking in &quot;this economy,&quot; since the way it used to be and the things that used to work are long gone.</description>
